A final example where there is a yardstick available to judge shifts in arrival dates is the honey-buzzard , a bird of prey that is specialized on wasps (Vespula and Dolichovespula spp.). While there is a clear advancement in wasp phenology, there is again no change in Dutch honey-buzzard arrival dates (R. Bijlsma, unpublished data).
